Season of Lent

Hey! How are things? Spring has arrived here in Calgary, and we’re enjoying the nice weather very much (but waiting for our last annual snowstorm that seems to “surprise” us every March!). I have been quite busy lately – performing, writing, recording demos, and am looking forward to the work ahead with my musicians and producer. Stay tuned for project news coming soon! Now in our season of Lent, I have been taking time for devotions and prayer, in preparation for Easter. God has taught me a lot through Job and Daniel – mostly to trust God with every situation. “I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. I had only heard of you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.” (Job 42:1, 5). Job’s experience taught him of God’s majesty and power, and his personal need of redirection. Nothing worthwhile is easy, and allowing God to work and take control is a reward in itself. Empty yourself today, to allow room for God. He’ll surprise you, and lead you in every area of your life. This Saturday, March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, join me once again at The House Coffee Sanctuary in Calgary. St. Patrick, a 5th Century Catholic missionary from Britain, endured hardship beyond our reasoning, but turned to his faith for comfort. Although he was uneducated and feeling inadequate, he obeyed God’s calling and went to Ireland with confidence to preach and baptize, leading many to Christ. He presented the Gospel in truth and in simplicity, and also creatively, using the shamrock leaf to explain the Trinity. By the 7th century he was considered legendary, and we still take time to remember his life achievements today. God took a simple man, and much like Job and Daniel, he used St. Patrick to tell of his Good News. Thank you again for your ongoing support. I hope to hear from you or see you soon, Take care
